Accommodation
Marlin's 19 En-Suite Chalets stretch along the beach of Flamingo Bay. Each
sea-facing chalet has a private patio with a walkway down to the sandy
white beach. The wood-reed-and-thatch chalets are a blend of elegance
and African Island beauty. Decorated with a hue of creams, browns,
and slight blues, the chalets reflect luxury and essential comfort.
Drift into a slumber listening to the lap of waves and the breath of
trade winds in the palms.
Luxury Chalet
This Chalets are the fully and newly renovated style. Theis rooms has a
four-poster beds, soft bedding, beautiful furniture, roof fan as well
as air-conditioning and many extras, as well as an En- Suite bathroom.
The roof is thatch and cladded with canvas to give a tented feel, the
walls are a combination of washed plaster on brickwork and Mozambique
reed. Maximum of two guests per chalet.
Executive Suite
These 3 Suites are the most recent refurbished
rooms. Their size is about 100 square meters including the En-Suite
bathroom, each Suite features 2 lounges, a built in mini bar, 2 basin
areas, vanity area, inside and outside showers. They all feature a
king size four poster bed, with air-conditioning, and a roof fan. The
patios have a hammock, sitting area, and private walkway to the beach.
These suites are the pride of Marlin Lodge, and aimed at the more up
market traveler. Maximum of two guests in a suite.
Cuisine
Marlin Lodge cuisine is a colourful and exotic delight... Venues vairy
from, semi-formal in the open air dining room, to the exquisite beach,
for a once in a life time "dining under the stars". Crisp salads, spicy
poultry, limitless flavours of seafood creates a blend of Afro-Asia
and Portuguese cuisine.
A unique setting
The elegant elivated wooden structures snake along the back of the
chalets, connecting them to the main area, and are beautifully integrated
into the sensitive Island environment. The center-piece is a living-dining
area where one can retreat from the African sun, sip on a Marlin
Lodge cocktail or lazily catch up on some reading.
The freshwater pool is set in a glade of Coconut and Ilala palms.
Upon occasion lunch is served here which creates
an origional African Island setting.
Activities
Scale the highest dunes during a round-the-island tour, or enjoy a
catered picnic on a deserted isle. Slip across translucent shallows
on a sailboard, or fly a haul on one of Marlin' catamarans. Seek
the deserted islands in the Archipelago on an exquisite motorised
yacht. And when the day turns, watch the sun set over the ocean while
sailing along on a dhow sundowner cruise.
Scuba and snorkelling
The warm tropical waters surrounding the archipelago support a stunning
variety of fish, coral, marine mammals and
plants. Dive House reef, two mile reef, Aquarium, five mile reef,
Magaruque Island, deep hole, Magaruque Express, Cabo San Sebastaio,
Bazaruto north point, Light House and Turtle reef.
Angling
Deep-sea fishing, gamefishing (marlin and sailfish), surfcasting, saltwater
fly-fishing.
Excursions
Includes sunset cruises, Pansy Island sports, Aquarium adventure, island
drives, Dhow sailing, visits to Vilanculos and day trips around the
island.
Water Sports
Activities include wind-surfing, catamaran sailing, kite-flying, ocean
ski-paddling, water-skiing, para-sailing, knee-boarding and water-snaking.
