The new Indigo Bay Island Resort & Spa will offer accommodation and facility upgrades that will include a destination spa, improved leisure facilities, and the world’s first International Island Golf course.
The improvements include the creation of 12 Bay View Suites from the previous Bay View Rooms, each consisting of two rooms, luxury outdoor dining area and a private splash pool. The Bay View Suites are spacious and modern in design boasting the best fabrics and décor currently available in resort room design. The Bay View suites are perfect for a romantic getaway or a family break.
Other accommodation is provided by 29 Beach Chalets, each complete with indoor and outdoor showers, en-suite bathroom with sea facing oval bath, king size beds, balcony, open plan living area.
The dedicated honeymoon chalet, only 20m from the shore, is secluded from the rest of the chalets. With the opening of the Sanctuary Spas managed spa facility, the resort will be the perfect location for honeymooning couples.
The accommodation enhancements will also see the addition of a Presidential suite, with an innovative new exterior wooden cabin design, fitted with the interior luxuries of a 5 star presidential suite. In addition to the normal facilities it also has its own spa bath and rim flow swimming pool.
All rooms are mosquito screened, come complete with central air-conditioning with adjustable temperature settings, mini bar, satellite TV and a tea / coffee station.
The Indigo Bay Island Resort will also see the addition of some unique facilities. The established diving, fishing and other watersports activities will be supplemented by a 9 hole floodlit Qolf course.
Qolf is regarded as a brand new revolutionary off-course golf game, which can be mastered by all, irrespective of golfing ability. Similar in style to traditional pitch and putt, but with elements of croquet, Qolf is an innovation in golfing technology.
The Indigo Bay Island Resort Qolf course, designed in consultation with Patrick Watson, renowned architectural garden designer of the Sun City resort, offers a two tier sculptured purpose built arena around the natural undulating island geography. It will have a unique island feel, including sea sand bunkers, and ocean vista from the tee’s.
The game is extremely easy to master even for children and perfect for groups as a recreation event. The centrepiece of the course is a purpose built entertainment area, adding to the social aspects of the game, and also creates an excellent platform for team building exercises. The Indigo Bay Island Resort course is the first Island course, and the first International course.
